Create your own Flash-based interactive Basketball game
The player is asked a question - if they get it correct they have the opportunity to try and 'Shoot the Hoop'.
Based around Multiple-choice questions the game offers a one player, two player and time challenge option.

Requirements:

The generator program:
Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP or Vista.
Finished quizzes:
Any device with the free Adobe Flash Player installed.
The quizzes you generate can be uploaded to a website, used on a school network or just directly from an individual PC. The Flash game can be used on any computer or device with the Flash player installed.

Beta 0.98 released on 16th September 2006
Bug fixes and improvements - fixed question loading problem, plus problem of generating blank questions in the generator. Also increased size of text for incorrect answer feedback.
Beta 0.96 released on 1st September 2006
Introduced question ordering option - you can select to show questions completely randomly or in random chronological order (i.e. the order in which questions are put into the generator).

New feature allowing you to select what happens when player gets the answer wrong - either move on, or display a missed shot.
Beta version 0.8 released on 21st August 2006 [First public beta]
Improved and got the Time Challenge option working correctly. Fixed bugs with .swf generation and improved graphics further. Addional sound effects.
Beta version 0.7 released on 17th August 2006
First fully working version allowing games to be generated. All new features included - improved shooting, player movement and higher quality graphics.
More advanced beta test game released 12th August 2006
Major programming hurdles overcome - need to restrict movement around the 3-point line in pseduo 3D but still make the movement reactive enough to keep things fun. Similar difficulties with the ball flight. Complex programming to make this work too.
Stable beta test game developed by 30th July 2006
Complete overhaul of the graphics, game screen made much wider, more atmospheric crowd, great new multimedia sound effects.
Early beta test developed by February 2006
Actual player introduced that followed the mouse around.
Development and improvements to the game have taken nearly two years - the addition of an actual player, the improved movement, the ball mathematics have all been extensive challenges.
The original version remained the same for three years - the same basic premise was working well - get a question correct and try to score a basket.

HoopShoot was originally developed on my SchoolHistory.co.uk website as 'Historical HoopShoot' released on 16th March 2003 (see original announcement). The game has been one of the most popular choices on the site ever since.
